Using the Wire Saw system, which uses diamond wire, Furacon made several cuts in the sewage outfall located on the Marginal Tietê, for the interconnection of a new system, as part of a project by the São Paulo State Government.

After making the cuts, two 3.0 x 3.0m pieces of concrete were removed, about 40 cm thick. You can see the size of these pieces in the photos. The great challenge of this job was to overcome the volumetric pressure that was very intense inside the outfall, making it difficult to make the cuts and remove the pieces.

Controlled demolition of semi-circular roofs using the Hydraulic Crusher. The Robot was ideal for this job because its arm has a reach of up to 4.5 m and because it is operated by remote control with bluetooth technology, it gave the operator an excellent view of the entire work area. The roofs were demolished and the adjacent structures remained intact

Furacon, a specialist in high-rise demolition, was chosen for this challenging project, carried out at a height of 60 meters. For the first time in Brazil, controlled demolition was carried out on a chimney flanked by two others, using a demolition robot with remote controls.

Weighing around 2 tons, the robot was lifted to the top of the chimney to begin demolition, using a methodology specifically developed for this client. The total demolition was carried out in just 5 working days, fully meeting the expectations of the client, who had already experienced major difficulties and frustrations with other contractors.

Furacon was chosen internationally for this project, carried out for the Venezuelan government. The challenge faced was the demolition of a gigantic tank called “Hornos de Cal”, which was located in the city of Caracas, surrounded by a community called “La Televisora”. The tank was 30m in diameter and needed to be demolished so that a cable car station (Metro Cable) could be built on the site.

The location of the tank made it impossible to demolish it by any other method than controlled demolition, as there were houses extremely close to the tank and any alternative to conventional demolition would put hundreds of people and properties at risk.

To solve the issue of the meter cable, the construction company responsible for the work chose Furacon for its renowned experience. The complete demolition of the tank took 65 days.

The aim of this job was to demolish an elevated reservoir, which had been condemned, without the use of manual labor because the client did not allow any workers to stand on or under the structure of the reservoir.

We designed a metal platform that would be strong enough to withstand the impacts generated by the demolition, where the robot could work on it in complete safety.

To solve the problem of visualizing the demolition of the reservoir’s calyx, which was 32.0 m high, we placed the operators on an articulated lifting platform 42.0 m high, where we were able to work quite satisfactorily.

After demolishing the chalice, the support structure remained, and now, with a better view, we were able to meet the client’s requirements and finish the job with professionalism and mastery.
